So I won a third place award for a sports feature picture in this year’s College Photographer of the Year competition. Lots of threes. Third place, third time I have entered. It reminds me of one of my favorite Simpsons quotes when the Olympics Commissioner is talking to the town in the episode where Bart loses the Olympics for Springfield. “People, people, please! You’re forgetting what the Olympics are all about: giving out medals of beautiful gold, so-so silver and shameful bronze.” No really, I am proud of myself, but that was the first thing I thought of when I was told I won the award. I might love the Simpsons as much as photography. Check it out:
