It’s The Little Things

I have found that when I travel, its the little differences that really stick out and make a place feel foreign. Especially when you first get somewhere, everything seems foreign and strange. This is, in my opinion, one of the great things about traveling and so I have been making an attempt to keep a document of the strange things I encounter. A lot of them, I think, are funny or just out-of-place. I mean, the name “Burger Chariot” is just clean fun. And who names a computer store, “Virus” (both real examples). Its so easy for the strange to become commonplace, that I have made a promise to myself is to keep a running document of all the little things that stick out to me. This is not my attempt to be a good photographer, but just to document the humorous, weird, or otherwise foreign things I see in Ecuador. This is the first “Little Things” gallery and I will be updating as I find more pictures. Hope you enjoy.

Is the “widowmaker” some sorta water heater? And if so, it must get damned cold in Quito!

Sunglasses in an underground gold mine is the secondary issue, when you’re raping the Mother Earth for “The man” or in this case, “El Hombre” I suppose, ya gotta look good doin’ it cuz one never knows when TMZ is gonna open their Latin America office in Ecuador. Besides, though the yellow boots clash w/ the blue jeans they are clearly deliberately color coordinated with the hard hat.
